Victory July Classical Open - CFC-Rated Chess Tournament - Under 18

ELIGIBILITY

This tournament is open to all players who will be 18 years old or younger as of January 1, 2027.

SECTIONS

U1300 - based on CFC Regular Rating              

U1700 - based on CFC Regular Rating            

FORMAT

Regular Swiss or Round Robin (depending on section size)

In Round 1 and 2, family members will not be paired against each other whenever possible.

TIME CONTROL

60 minutes per player with a 30-second increment per move.

Round 1: 10:00 am

Free pizza lunch for players: 12:45 pm - 1:15 pm

Round 2: 1:15 pm

Round 3: 4:00  pm

Sunday, July 19, 2026

Round 4: 11:00 am

Round 5: 2:00 pm

Awards ceremony immediately after the final round, at approximately 5:00 pm.

DEFAULT TIME

30 minutes from the start of the round.

BYE POLICY

All requested byes are 0-point byes. A player may be marked as “not paired” for a requested round, but no half-point byes will be awarded.

ENTRY FEES

• Early Bird Rate: $50 – Available until Sunday, July 12

• Regular Rate: $60 – Applies from  Monday, July 13  until registration closes on Friday, July 17 at 8:00 pm.

No on-site registration  will be accepted.

2nd place - $75 cash prize

TIEBREAK RULES

1) Direct encounter

2) Buchholz - 1 (The same as Buchholz (sum of opponents’ scores), but the lowest opponent’s score is left out)

3) Buchholz ((Sum of all opponents’ scores)

4) Sonneborn-Berger (Opponents’ scores: full points for wins, half points for draws.)

5) Number of  Games Won

CANCELLATION POLICY

$10 processing fee will be applied to any cancellations made on or before July 12.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after July 12.
