Victory June Rapid Open - CFC-Rated Chess Tournament - Under 18

ELIGIBILITY

This tournament is open to all players who will be 18 years old or younger as of January 1, 2027.

SECTIONS

U1300 - based on CFC Quick Rating              Registered Players

U1700 - based on CFC Quick Rating              Registered Players

FORMAT

Regular Swiss or Round Robin (depending on section size)

In Round 1 and 2, family members will not be paired against each other whenever possible.

TIME CONTROL

25 minutes per player with a 5-second increment per move.

SCHEDULE

Saturday, June 13, 2026

Round 1: 11:00 am

Round 2: 12:10 pm

Round 3: 1:20 pm

Free pizza lunch for players: 2:20 pm - 2:50 pm

Round 4: 2:50 pm

Round 5: 4:00 pm

Awards ceremony immediately after the final round, at approximately 5:00 pm.

BYE POLICY

All requested byes are 0-point byes. A player may be marked as “not paired” for a requested round, but no half-point byes will be awarded.

ENTRY FEES

Thanks to the generous support of Albion Health Pharmacy, registration for this tournament is available at a special sponsored rate:

• $10 - available until registration closes on Friday, June 12 at 8:00 p.m., or until all 40 spots are filled.

No on-site registration  will be accepted.

TIEBREAK RULES

1) Direct encounter

2) Buchholz - 1 (The same as Buchholz (sum of opponents’ scores), but the lowest opponent’s score is left out)

3) Buchholz ((Sum of all opponents’ scores)

4) Sonneborn-Berger (Opponents’ scores: full points for wins, half points for draws.)

5) Number of  Games Won

CANCELLATION POLICY

$10 processing fee will be applied to any cancellations made on or before June 7.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after June 7.
