ELIGIBILITY

This tournament is open to all players who will be 18 years old or younger as of January 1, 2026.

SECTIONS

U1200 - based on CFC Regular Rating

U1700 - based on CFC Regular Rating

OPEN - for players over 1700 CFC Regular Rating

FORMAT

Regular Swiss or Round Robin (depending on section size)

In Round 1, family members will not be paired against each other whenever possible.

TIME CONTROL

60 minutes per player with a 30-second increment per move.

• Early Bird Rate: $80 – Available until Sunday, December 21

• Regular Rate: $90 – Applies from December 22 until registration closes on December 27 at 8:00 p.m.

No on-site registration will be accepted.

Open (minimum 6 players required):

• Prize pool: 50% of registration fees from participants in this section

   

• Distribution:

   

  • 1st place – 50% of prize pool

  • 2nd place – 30% of prize pool

  • 3rd place – 20% of prize pool

TIEBREAK RULES

1) Direct encounter

2) Buchholz - 1 (The same as Buchholz (sum of opponents’ scores), but the lowest opponent’s score is left out)

3) Buchholz ((Sum of all opponents’ scores)

4) Sonneborn-Berger (Opponents’ scores: full points for wins, half points for draws.)

5) Number of  Games Won

CANCELLATION POLICY

$10 processing fee will be applied to any cancellations made on or before December 21.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after December 22.
