Players achieving a score of at least 50% (2.5/5.0) will qualify to compete in the 2026 Canadian Youth Chess Championship.
All participants must have a free CFC ID, which can be obtained at: https://www.chess.ca/en/players/membership-join/
A paid CFC Membership is not required.
1) Direct encounter
If the tied players all played each other, the results of those games decide their order.
If even one game is missing among tied players, we skip DE and use Buchholz Cut 1 instead.
2) Buchholz Cut 1
We add up the scores of your opponents, dropping the lowest score.
3) Buchholz
We add up the scores of all your opponents.
4) Sonneborn-Berger
Gives extra weight for wins against strong opponents.
5) Number of Games Won
If players are still tied, the one with more wins (not byes or forfeits) is ranked higher.
A $10 processing fee will be applied to any cancellations made on or before September 21.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after September 21.
